Maureen Shamy

Coach Shamy was a multi-sport player in high school and college prior to her coaching career. In basketball, she was a 4-year letter at NBTHS and a 2-year starter at Middlesex County College. Ms. Shamy started coaching basketball at NBTHS in 2012. In 1978, Ms. Shamy helped establish the NBTHS girls soccer program and then in 1984 she helped establish the NCAA women’s soccer program for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Ms. Shamy played at Rutgers from 1983-1985. From 1985-1987, she acted as the head soccer coach at NBTHS, taking the team to the Bicentennial Conference finals in 1985. Coach Shamy currently acts as the assistant coach for the team. Coach Shamy started coaching lacrosse at South Brunswick in 2009 and acted as varsity assistant through 2012. There she was fortunate to coach the second best defense in NJ in 2010 and was part of a winning program that won 4 county and divisional titles, and made it to the state sectional finals twice. Moving to NBTHS in 2013, Coach Shamy has won 4 county titles and 4 division titles. She currently has 153 wins and has been named assistant coach of the year twice.
